The Government recently approved a new Restart Grant to financially support small businesses with costs of re-opening and re-employing employees due to Covid-19.
How do we qualify?
To avail of this grant, companies must;
- Have 50 employees or less and a turnover of less that €5million
- have had/will have at least a 25% reduction in turnover or closed due to Covid-19
- intend on retaining employees through the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme and to re-employ staff on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment where applicable
How much is available?
The grants available are equivalent to the company’s rates bill for 2019, minimum payment of €2,000 up to a maximum of €10,000. A company must be included in the Local Authorities Commercial Rates Payment System. It can be used for replenishing stock, ongoing fixed costs and for measures to ensure employee and customer safety.
How do we apply?
Applications can be made online through your locally authority from 22nd May. In reference to the National Roadmap, processing of applications will be prioritised based on these phases.
